|Banfi Banana Paper|
The Golden Grove group from St. Thomas, one of the beneficiaries of the PIMJ project, produces beautiful paper made from 100% banana fiber under the Banfi Craft brand. This banana fiber is derived from the bark of the banana tree, extracted and processed into paper. The paper is then dyed and sold in a variety of colours.
Things Jamaican now carries Banfi Craft banana paper in about thirteen (13) different colours, sold in single sheets or packs of ten (10). These can be used for a variety of arts and crafts purposes such as making invitations, envelopes, scrap books, albums and even used in jewelry or trinket box making. For wedding stationery, persons can get the paper customized to match the colour scheme.
